After another morning of reading about devastating tornados in the midwest, I was wondering if we are having more tornados. Turns out we are. According to NOAA, by this time of year we would normally have about 250 tornados, but we’ve had 800. But 2006 and 2007 were also ahead of the normal pace at this time of year, but finished below average. I wonder though if more and seemingly more violent storms are linked to climate change–warmer air and more moisture in the air.
