We went to Yuri’s Night yesterday at Moffett Field. Yuri’s Night celebrates the first manned spaced flight by Yuri Gagarin, and over 100 “Yuri’s Night” are held around the world. Quite an event. Kind of a high tech rave, with talks. It’s co-hosted by NASA Ames and the Space Generation Advisory Council, so Ames and other government science organizations had displays, along with other companies and other interesting groups like the Long Now Foundation. The music was great, but unbelievably loud. My memory of the 60’s is a little vague, but I don’t remember music that hurt. More photos on Flickr.
